What it is

What is
invisible orthodontics?

Invisible orthodontics is a dental correction system that uses thermoformed clear plastic aligners instead of braces and wires. Each aligner applies gentle, controlled pressure to the teeth to gradually move them into their correct position. They are virtually invisible, removable, and completely custom-made from a digital scan of your mouth.

The process begins with a 3D intraoral scan that captures the exact anatomy of your dentition. From this digital model, the movement of each tooth to its final position is virtually designed, and a series of numbered aligners is manufactured, which you change every 1-2 weeks. Before starting, you can see on screen how your teeth will look at the end of the treatment.

At Alldent Benalmádena, we work with the leading invisible orthodontics systems on the market to offer you the most suitable option for your case and budget. Invisible orthodontics is not just for adults: it is also an excellent option for teenagers. We provide free diagnoses for patients from Benalmádena, Málaga city, and the entire Costa del Sol.

What can you correct
with invisible orthodontics?

Aligners resolve most cases that previously required braces. Find out which situations invisible orthodontics treats and which may require specific assessment.

01

Crowded or overlapping teeth

Dental crowding is the most frequent indication for invisible orthodontics in Benalmádena. Aligners progressively align the teeth in the available space, achieving a uniform smile without the need for braces or extractions in most cases.

02

Gaps between teeth (diastemas)

Aligners close gaps between teeth gradually and controllably. The result is a compact and aesthetic smile without surgery or invasive procedures. One of the fastest and most visible corrections with this system.

03

Crossbite, open bite, or deep bite

Modern invisible orthodontics systems can also correct bite alterations: anterior or posterior crossbite, open bite, and deep overbite. In cases of severe malocclusion, it will be assessed whether it is necessary to combine with other treatments.

Delivery of aligners and initial instructions

You receive the first numbered aligners along with detailed usage instructions: a minimum of 20-22 hours a day, how to clean them, and when to change them. The process is completely autonomous between visits.

/ 04

Periodic check-ups (every 6-8 weeks)

Monitoring of treatment progress, delivery of new series of aligners, and adjustment of the plan if necessary. Fewer visits than with conventional braces, perfectly compatible with work or studies.

/ 05

Final retainers and discharge

At the end, retainers are fitted to maintain the position of the teeth long-term. Included in the treatment price. Correct use of the retainer guarantees a lifelong result.

What our patients say

Frequently asked questions about invisible orthodontics

For the treatment to be effective, aligners must be worn for a minimum of 20-22 hours a day. They are only removed for eating, drinking coloured liquids, and brushing teeth. If this time is not met, the treatment slows down or may not work correctly.

Aligners do not cause pain as such. In the first few hours after changing an aligner, there may be sensitivity or a feeling of pressure, which is normal and disappears within 1-2 days. As there are no braces or wires, there are no rubs or sores.

It depends on the complexity of the case. Mild cases or aesthetic touch-ups: 3-6 months. Moderate cases: 9-18 months. Complex cases: 18-24 months. The digital simulation during the first visit includes an estimate of the number of aligners and, therefore, the approximate duration.

No. Aligners must always be removed for eating and drinking any beverage other than water. Eating with them in can deform or stain them. This also implies greater hygiene discipline: it is important to brush and clean the aligners before putting them back in.

For most cases of mild to moderate malocclusion, yes. In cases of severe malocclusion, extreme rotations, or complex vertical movements, braces may be more effective. Alldent’s orthodontist will recommend the most suitable option for your case after the free 3D diagnosis.

Yes. Many of our invisible orthodontics patients come from Málaga city, Fuengirola, Torremolinos, Mijas, and Marbella. The low frequency of visits — every 6-8 weeks — makes it perfectly compatible with coming from anywhere in the province of Málaga.
